"Canada at 150": The Chorus Effect

Thank you very much Salma and looking forward to getting the Chorus Effect back up in a couple of weeks. See you there and thank you very much for your contributions. Definitely worth the shout out!

PART III: Working the terrain in Papineau

Thank you very much Salma! I really appreciate your comments and your participation.

Canadians going prorogue Harper's move called affront to democracy

The idea of prorogation being a legitimate prime ministerial power and advocating for limits on that power, are not mutually exclusive ideas. This is what Ignatieff has stated in the following CTV interview and article you find below:

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20100125/parliament_return_100125/20100125?hub=TopStoriesV2

Thank you for your comments and I hope it helped clarify the situation.

I think you are right! Sometimes we forget that certain messages, if wanted to be heard, should be communicated differently.

Putting politics aside...

I am trying to do what I can with the resources I have at the moment. Keep up the great work and let me know if there’s anything else that I can help you with.

The Hill Times 13th Annual All Politics Poll

I think it was due to the fact that it was fresh in their minds at the time of interview but alas, what do you expect from looking at the ratio of participants.

Year in review, another view

It was definitely a unique way of surveying the hill. Maybe it was due to availability of MP’s. To be taken with a grain of salt. Thanks for the comment, happy holidays and see you in 2010!

Liberal MPs plot early retirement for Ignatieff

Who said that I want to change the leadership of the Liberal party. My blog is about the Liberal MP of my riding - the riding I was born and raised in all my life. If you want a little more background on why I take the time to upkeep this blog, please refer to entries under the category ‘Je me souviens’. I am not involved with the Liberal party either nationally or provincially but I do know this, if the Liberal party keeps on remaining silent on attacks like this and others (like the anti-semitic propaganda issued by Harper’s minions) then we won’t have much to talk about after the next election. That article was intended to shine some light on what has been written (see reply to other comment for reasons). My blog is not partisan it is two-tracked: Justin Trudeau and Papineau. No agenda. No ulteriour motives. Hard to believe in the world that we live in today but my values forbid me to even consider it.

Liberal MPs plot early retirement for Ignatieff

The reason why I am posting it is because I believe that the original article be presented next to a response to the article (which I posted on the same day) titled, ‘The Parallel Parliament’ (http://blog.anthonydicarlo.ca/?p=696). I do not have ulteriour motives besides showing people that they cannot always believe what they read and some professional judgement must be practiced with some media sources. I hope that my reason fits you definition of legitimate.

In Outremont it will be Cauchon vs Mulcair

The voters will decide but I believe he will still need to work hard. The NDP have a strong team there already.

Hi Sandra,

Thank you very much for your comment and for visiting the blog. Comeback whenever you’d like. Mi casa es su casa :)

The Origins of "Je me souviens"

Thank you Éric for the lyrics. It can very much be an origin behind Je me souviens. What I do believe is that we must begin to remember other parts of our history and in the case of this blog and this generation, not too long ago like for instance, 1980 and beyond. It seems we are a generation in limbo when it comes to the national question however way you want to interpret it and we are the ones that will be (or are already) stepping up to take on this subject and it seems that nothing really new has been presented on the matter. What do you think?

Montréal ma cité, Québec ma province, Canada my country

hey Eric thanks but someone actually changed it to the way I have it now. It seems that even if you have d`, it can still mean a plural America. Thanks for comment.

The Origins of "Je me souviens"

It was Taché’s father, if I am not mistaken, that was a Patriot leader and not E.E Taché himself but, I do agree with you on the intentions of the Parti Quebecois’ for putting the slogan on the province’s license plates.

I like the mention of ”Un Canadien Errant.” If you have the rest of the song please do send it to me.

I have tried to adapt the slogan in the following blog post: http://blog.anthonydicarlo.ca/?p=207

Let me know what you think of it - creatively, that is!

The Origins of "Je me souviens"

Thank you and please do not hesitate to add your own interpretations.

avec raison. Je suis chanceux de l’avoir comme MP de Papineau. Merci pour ton commentaire.

Trudeau talks to Gander

Thank you for your comments Cari. Do not hesitate to keep me up-to-date with any articles about Justin that you would like to share.

Federal, provincial Liberals begin rapprochement; Coderre drops in at QLP meeting. Parties have kept their distance since federal sponsorship scandal

fair enough especially since he has been the longest standing premier in Quebec for decades. His time can come up soon for the sake of change in the province but I believe he still has some time to go. It looks like Mario Dumont has his eye on the Federal scene though. It makes sense to have both parties talking again since Ignatieff is less of a polarizing figure in Quebec than Dion was. Thank you for the time.

Justin Trudeau To Speak To Local Liberals

thank you for your kind words. I know what you mean. He is actually the MP of my riding of Papineau and have heard him speak at numerous functions over the past few months. He’s a great speaker indeed with a great sense of responsibility towards the people who elected him, as well as, the rest of the province and the country that have thier hopes in him. I will soon be adding an entry about my life in Papineau and Justin’s role since he was elected as the Federal Liberal MP for Papineau in 2007. Stay tuned!

Trudeau tells students to dream big for Canada

Thank you to have taken the time to add your comments and perspective to the blog. Ignatieff’s vision of Canada has truly rejuvenated the Liberal base across the country. The vision is uniting, fresh and welcoming … “the times they are a’ changin’ ” if we can be so humble.
